Gary Police report double homicide

Three shot at Delaware street residence
Gary Police are reporting a double homicide occurred early today, Friday August 11, on the city’s east side.
GPD public information officer Lt. Dawn Westerfield said police responded to a call reporting multiple gun shot victims at approximately 3:58 a.m. to the 1100 block of Delaware.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered two males and one female had sustained gun shot wounds at 1160 Delaware.
One male, Jamaris Frierson, age 16, was declared deceased on the scene by the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Frierson’s address, according to the coroner, is the 400 block of Deerpath Ct., Hobart.
The second male, Nathaniel Bobo, age 25 and a resident of the Delaware Street address was taken to Methodist Hospital’s Northlake Campus, 600 Grant, where he died from his wounds.
The female is receiving treatment for her injuries.
