Gary Public Library hosts Adra Young book signings

Bullying issues and solutions for middle and high school students
The public is invited to meet author Adra Young, Saturday, October 7 at 1 pm at the Woodson Branch, 501 S. Lake St and Saturday, November 4 at 2pm at the Kennedy Branch, 3953 Broadway.
Young’s book, The Misfits, is a work of fiction written specifically for the middle school population. It is based upon the middle school bullying epidemic.
A native of Gary, Indiana and a Roosevelt High School graduate, Young has over twenty years of experience with youth in and out of the classroom environment.
She served as a social skills provider for the Detroit Impact Center.
Pinpointing the lack of resources available for both middle and high school students within the urban setting, she created a program that specifically addresses solutions to the overwhelming issues today’s youth face.
